Sarkka&#8217;s history dates back to 1941, when a folk restaurant fitting the spirit of the time was established on the ground floor of the newly completed Hotel Tervahov. Sarkka got its name as a result of a naming contest in 1942, after the word meaning drinking goblet or pint.
